For good times and bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for
Anyone remember that song by Dionne Warwick?
OK- sorry about that tangent, but today I am thankful for awesome friends! I have had a crazy month, mostly in my head. Lot's of work to try and re-brand and going full time and all that jazz. Plus my traumatic flight on the way home from California. My head is spinning in a million directions and I really haven't slept well. But - I am thankful!
A week or two ago I got to talk with a sweet friend. She's a new friend and although I think she is super rad, I haven't had a ton of time to spend with her. But, I had some questions I knew she could answer...or at least help me find the answers. Since I haven't been sleeping well, I was looking into some of the Essential Oil stuff. (Side note - how many of you are using those now? Give me some insight!) I told her upfront - I wanted to get to the point and not talk long. She was gracious and understood me. So we talked. We talked mostly business stuff. But she heard me. She heard my fears and my heart. She made me laugh and warmed my soul. By the time we were done talking...about OILS...yes OILS...my soul felt really free. The point wasn't about oils. It was about friendship and having someone walking beside you. I just had such low expectations (please don't be offended), but my heart was bursting at the seams. I have been meaning to share this story since then, but kept forgetting. Since, then, I have really noticed some incredible blessings of friendships. Friendships I didn't necessarily pick out, plan on, or whatever. But friendships that are in my life for one reason or another and I truly feel blessed because of them and knowing the faces behind each one. Thank you!
Mike has been incredible and always encouraging. He needs a whole post to himself. But today, today is about awesome women I get to call friends.
These friends send me crazy photos of their life to help me keep the mood light when I'm stressed.
They listen to me and my crazy mind run wild - listen - and that's it.
They chime in when I need them to - and somehow they know when I need them to.
They are willing, and want to, text with you across state and country lines. They will talk about nothing or whatever is on your mind that day.
They work 12 hour shifts, then come home and talk on the phone with me to just love on me and pray with me.
They want to be in my space even when I don't want them to be, but they don't force their way in. They wait until I'm ready.
They will call or come over to keep me company while Mike is gone - and offer me cupcakes and movies.
They take care of me, and Mike. Bring us food when we are sick or pick things up that need to go somewhere else.
They love me right where I am - today.
They pray for me and with me.
Today I am thankful for all of them! I am thankful to serve and love them too. Is there someone you can love on today?
